IED Checker — IEC 61850 server conformance test suite
Every MMS server test case in IEC 61850 clause 10, run exhaustively against your device.
The conformance tester for devices that serve 61850. It takes the published clause 10 MMS server test cases, adds error and limit scenarios that break naive implementations, and produces a report you can put in front of a customer, a type-approval body or your own firmware team.

Scenario testing
Two scenario families separate products that pass a happy-path demo from products that survive a real substation. Error scenarios cover parameter errors, operations on invalid objects, type errors, out-of-range values and abnormal termination. Limit scenarios push the device to its stated maxima: read/write responses per second, reports processed per second, and log storage capacity, so the numbers in the datasheet get verified rather than assumed.
- Reports in Word, Excel or PDF, with customisable templates
- Scripted test language for repeatable runs after each firmware build
- Custom cases can be added to the test collection and managed as templates

Frequently asked
Is this the same engine as your SDK?
It is the same protocol kernel in the opposite role, which is why a device built on our SDK usually passes early runs — and why a device with a genuine deviation shows it immediately.
Can you run the test for us?
Yes, remote or on-site conformance testing is offered as a service with a per-clause report. Many teams use this before buying a licence, to establish the current state of their device.
Do we need a 61850 expert to operate it?
No. Test cases are pre-built and grouped by service; the scripted language is only needed when you want to automate a regression suite.
